Boost Your Email Marketing With Google Analytics
If you use email marketing as a part of your promotional campaign, you’re already ahead of some of your competitors. If you use a tracking software to analyze your email campaign, even better!
If you are not tracking your links to measure the open rate and necessary metrics of your email campaign, you are missing the opportunity that will strengthen your communication with clients and overall website visibility.
Tracking your email campaigns is very important when analyzing the visitors who open and browse your newsletter whether you’re a retail merchant or an affiliate.
If analytics is not set up with your email campaigns, the recipients that view your newsletter will be grouped in with visitors coming from referring traffic only if they’re coming from a web-based email client like Gmail or Yahoo!
Visitors who open your newsletter using an email client on their computer (like Outlook) will be grouped with visitors who come to your site via bookmarks or by typing your URL into their browser. This is considered direct traffic.
Without campaign tags you have no valuable data to analyze the traffic coming from your email marketing campaigns.
