SR SEO Tip: Don’t Be Obsessed With PageRank

PageRank (PR) is used by Google to measure the importance of a web page. Google ranks pages from a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest quality and possibility. The higher the PR the more authoritative the page is, and the better its chances for ranking higher on Google. It is important to note that PR is calculated per web page not for the full site. For example: could have a PR of 3 but could have a PR of 0.

PR is not the only factor for having a higher search result on Google, so don’t be obsessed by it. It is just a small part of the ranking algorithm. There are many sites with a lower PR that rank higher on Google’s results pages than sites with a higher PR.
