Wise words on Affiliate Marketing from Santa Claus

Here at Share Results, we take any opportunity we can to fully embrace the holidays! And maybe we’ve had one too many spiked eggnogs, or are still on a sugar rush from all that gingerbread, but we’re starting to see that good old man St. Nick as one very clever man whom affiliates could learn a lot from! Don’t believe me? Why don’t you check out a couple of affiliates lessons courtesy of our friend Santa Claus:

Touch Love Affiliate Marketing Lessons from Santa Claus

“You better watch out, you better not cry. Better not pout, I’m telling you why”
Like Santa Claus watching over the kiddies all year, success in affiliate marketing comes from efforts consistently made all year round. One of the things we try to teach our noobs is to be patient within their campaigns. It takes time and effort to build up traffic and sales, so if you find that you’ve made some edits to your campaigns and don’t see any changes in your conversions –sit tight! Sometimes it takes a while before seeing the fruits of our labor, so before you send a panicked email to your affiliate manager, ask yourself if you’ve allowed for an appropriate amount of time to go by before changes can be observed.

“He’s making a list, checking it twice”
Ok, so maybe this one isn’t just for affiliates but a great tip for anyone, especially those of us who work from home and don’t have co-workers to remind us about pending deadlines and nagging tasks. Every day, write down what you’d like to accomplish and then prioritize according to the most important tasks.

“Gonna find out who’s naughty and nice”
Santa’s not the only big guy who’s watching out for the good guys and the bad guys. Like Santa, affiliates need to see which campaigns and offers are working for them, and which ones aren’t. It’s nothing personal –just sometimes some merchant offers don’t convert as well on particular sites as others.

“He sees you when you’re sleeping. He knows when you’re awake”
As we know, one of the beauties of affiliate marketing is that once we can bring our campaigns up to a certain level, they will convert without needing any assistance from us –allowing affiliates to make commissions from sales while they sleep, are on holiday, etc… However, that level of conversions only comes with a serious amount of efforts leading up to it. When you’ve put a considerable amount of effort into your campaigns, it will show.
